How to prevent this in the future: OWASP Top 10.

html5 ftw

I recently read a nice article about HTML5 bot nets. I do really like the approach since it introduces platform independence to bot nets and the relationship between the attacker and its victim could be defined in an ASP contract :-)

pretty old presentation at the defcon: My Life as a Spyware Developer

During my research for a security presentation I found this nice speech about a the life of a spyware developer. Have phun watching it :-)

“das keyboard”

Today I want to write about my new keyboard – “das keyboard” in the silent version. It’s a very expensive, needless thing but a friend of mine told me this thing is the “holy hand grenade” of keyboards. Since the 4th expensive wireless logitech keyboard did not suite my needs, I bought this one. Just in case you are interested in my needs:

  • uninterrupted signal transfer. This means if I press a key it should be signalled correctly asap. This excludes high latency, signal the key press more often than it was pressed, etc.
  • no creaking keys
  • no hanging keys

“das keyboard” suites all those needs. But it created two additional needs that I wasn’t aware:

  • no rubber domes should be used
  • writing must not be loud nor disturbing other colleagues nearby

The fist one is simple to solve: Just buy a mechanical keyboard. If you get used to it you will never switch back to rubber domes – it feels so much better. A good article on mechanical keyboards can be found at overclock.net.

The second one seems to be a little bit more complex so I’m going to do some research on how to silence the silent version of “das keyboard” :-)
